You need not be an Olympic caliper athlete to participate in physical
activity or fitness. But I, like you, want to achieve some level of
accomplishment - if not excellence in our chosen selections. We also don't
like to look foolish or lost. Hence the need for some education on our
chosen areas.

So many strategies - try something new and learn how to improve!

Join a group exercise program where the instructor will
teach you to use proper form and technique, monitor your intensity and
provide entertainment - all you need do is just show up! |
 |
Enroll in a local adult community education course.
Most communities have adult courses run by hospitals or schools in the
evening once a week for several weeks - if not maybe a local college
course. Topics may be health or hobby oriented. |
 |
Hire a personal instructor for consultation; including
assessment, programming and occasional updates. |
 |
Join a sports team. Many leagues have several levels of
play ranging from novice to expert, from fierce competitors to social butterflies. |
 |
Self-educate: read books, watch TV shows or videos - check
out resources on the internet (see "resource" section on this web
site) |
